Pastor Barry RumseySuperintentent of RCS
Dr. Barry Rumsey, Superintendent of RCS, attended the University of Southern Colorado in Pueblo, Colorado, and the Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, where he met his wife, Vicki, and earned a Graduate of Music diploma, in 1978. The Rumseys were married in 1976. Pastor Rumsey served eight years in churches in Missouri, Ohio, and Illinois as a Music Director, Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor, and Interim Pastor.In 1984, he was called to be pastor of the Community Baptist Church in Lenoir City, Tennessee. During his seventeen years as their pastor, he continued his education at the Covington Theological Seminary in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, earning a Bachelor of Ministry, and a Master of Divinity, in 1990. In 2001, he became the Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Ruskin. While here, he has continued with his education, earning a Doctorate of Ministry in Bible in 2006. Dr. Rumsey and Vicki have four grown children: Joshua, Alisha(Williams), Jonathan, and Abigail. They now have seven grandchildren.

 

Tim VanderveerAdministrator
Tim Vanderveer became the administrator at RCS in May, 2004. His prior teaching and administrative experience was spent at Temple Heights Christian School in Tampa, Texas Christian Academy, Arlington, Texas, and North Florida Christian School in Tallahassee. He earned his undergraduate degree at Baptist Bible College, Springfield, Mo., and completed his master’s degree in 1997 at Louisiana Baptist University. His wife, Debbie, teaches first grade at RCS. Their daughter, Tiffany and husband Josh, live in Crawfordville, Florida. The Vanderveer’s became first-time grandparents in February 2012 when Braxton Davis Helton was born. The Vanderveer’s began their ninth year at RCS in August.
Steve WeerHigh School Principal
Mr. Weer became the MS/HS Principal at RCS in August 2012. His prior teaching and administrative experience was spent at Lakeside Christian in Clearwater and Providence Christian in Brandon, FL. He earned his undergraduate degree at Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, PA., and completed his Masters Degree in Ed. Admin. at Pensacola Christian College.
His wife, Becky, teaches third grade at RCS. Their oldest daughter, Sara, is married to a music pastor and teaches at a Christian School in PA. Their oldest son, Ben, also teaches Elem. P.E. at RCS. Their daughter, Ashley, graduated from RCS and is presently at HCC in the nursing program. They also have a son, David, who is a senior at RCS.
Mrs. Barbara GraingerPreschool Supervisor
Mrs. Barbara Grainger has 34 years experience in Christian Education as both a teacher and supervisor. After teaching at RCS for twenty-nine years, Mrs. Grainger just retired from teaching. She will continue to work part-time as the Supervisor of the preschool.>Barbara was married to her husband, J.R., a farmer, for forty-two years. They have five children: Jim is the owner of Grainger Farms and is President of the Florida Tomato Exchange; Mary is the middle school and high school English teacher at RCS; Robert is the farm manager for Grainger Farms; John is currently the Chairman of the Speech Department of Crown College in Minnesota. He previously taught at Pensacola Christian College for 20 years; Mitch is a youth and children’s pastor for Sarasota Baptist Church at the Lakewood Ranch campus.
Mrs. Grainger also enjoys her 15 grandchildren and her beautiful great granddaughter.
